Dr. Madhavi Gorusu is a hematologist/oncologist on the Hartford Hospital medical staff. She earned her medical degree from Andhra Medical College in India, and then completed a residency in internal medicine, partly through the Cleveland Clinic Health System and the University of Connecticut. She also completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology through UConn, and an elective in bone marrow transplant through the Yale University Blood Stem Cell Transplant Unit.
Board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology, she is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
She is the founder of the Mahatma and Martin Luther King Junior Foundation in India, and has published extensively on such topics as T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia, drug interactions and rituximab-induced serum sickness masquerading as septic shock.
