Bio

Rajani Nadkarni, MD, is a Medical Oncologist/Hematologist with the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at MidState Medical Center.

She earned his medical degree MBBS in psychiatry from Seth GS Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bombay, India, where she placed first in the university. After migrating to the United States in 1988, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael, where she served as chief resident. She completed a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at Yale University with a clinical research interest in lymphoma and lung cancer.

In the last 20 years of practice, she has developed an interest in breast cancer and the genetics of cancer. She also has an interest in the treatment of lung and colon cancers and lymphoma.

She initiated the Cancer Risk Assessment Program in 2010 and is the medical director of the program at MidState Medical Center. She is a member of the Breast Disease Management Team as well as the High Risk for Cancer Subcommittee for the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute, and is past president of the MidState medical staff.

She has been recognized for her compassionate approach to cancer care and her interest and initiative in the quality of cancer care by her patients and peers. She received the Connecticut Hospital Association Healthcare Hero Award in 2015 and a Leadership Award at MidState Medical Center.

Her practice welcomes all patients with cancer and blood disorders.
